Visit of His Beatitude Mor Ignatius Youssef III Younan

On March 18, 2022, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received His Beatitude Mor Ignatius Youssef III Younan, Syriac Catholic Patriarch of Antioch, at the Patriarchate Headquarters in Bab Touma, Damascus.‏His Beatitude was accompanied by their Eminences: Syriac Catholic Archbishop of Aleppo Mor Dionysius Antoine Shahda, Syriac Catholic Archbishop of Damascus Mor Youhanna Jihad Battah, Patriarchal Administrator of the Syriac Catholic Archdiocese of Homs, Hama, Nabak and Environs, Mor Flavian Rami Kabalan, Msgr. Joseph Shamee Patriarchal Administrator of the Syriac Catholic Archdiocese of Al Hasakah, and Msgr. Habib Mrad, Patriarchal Secretary.The meeting was attended by their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Cyril Babi, Patriarchal Vicar for the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Archbishop of Homs, Hama, Tartous and Environs, Mor Anthimos Jack Yakoub, Patriarchal Vicar for Youth Affairs and Christian Education, and Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.During the visit, His Holiness and His Beatitude discussed the strong relations between the two sister churches, especially helping the Christians in the Middle East who are attached to their homeland and identity. They also discussed the general situation in Syria and Lebanon, and the social and economic crises affecting the citizens.
