On June 6, 2022, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II visited His Beatitude Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rai, Maronite Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, at the Maronite Patriarchate in Bkerki, Lebanon.His Holiness wished His Beatitude a full recovery following the surgery he underwent recently. The two patriarchs also discussed the current situation in Lebanon and the Middle East. His Holiness was accompanied by their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Theophilos George Saliba, Archbishop of Mount Lebanon and Tripoli, Mor Clemis Daniel Kourieh, Archbishop of Beirut, Mor Severius Roger Akhrass, Patriarchal Vicar for Syriac Studies, Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director, and Very Rev. Fr. Markose Abraham, Patriarchal Secretary for Indian Affairs.
