Visit of the Charge d’Affaires of the Indian Embassy in Syria

On July 12, 2023, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received His Excellency ‎Shri V. Muraleedharan, Indian Minister of State for External Affairs, accompanied by the Charge d’Affaires of the Indian Embassy in Syria Mr. Vijay Vimal Pandey and a delegation from the ministry, at the Patriarchate Headquarters in Bab Touma, Damascus.

During the meeting, His Holiness spoke about the history of the Syriac Church and its presence in India since the early centuries of Christianity. He also spoke about the important role of India in supporting Syria during the last decade. His Excellency thanked His Holiness for his warm welcome and spoke about the different programs offered by India in support of the Syrian people.

Their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Assistant, Mor Christophoros Markose, Patriarchal Secretary for the Affairs of the Church in India, and Mor Augeen Al Khoury Nemat, Patriarchal Secretary, were also present in the meeting.
