On July 13, 2021, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received His Excellency Mr. Bassam, Governor of Homs and General Abdo Karam, Head of the Police of Homs, at the Headquarters of the Archdiocese of Homs, Hama, Tartous and Environs.
Their Eminences: Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Archbishop of Homs, Hama, Tartous and Environs, and Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary, and the clergy of the Archdiocese were also present.
During the meeting, His Excellency welcomed His Holiness in Homs. They spoke about the importance of cooperation between the church and the civil institutions in order to support the citizens and their return to their houses and work in the region of Old Homs.
