New Jacobite Congregation - St.Simon's Syriac Orthodox Church, Minneapolis, MN.

By the grace of God a new Syrian Orthodox congregation has been formed in Minnesota. Archbishop His Eminence Mor Titus Yeldho approved the request from the faithful in Minnesota to start a new Malankara Jacobite Syrian congregation in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St.Paul.

The new parish, St.Simon's Syriac Orthodox Church, named after St.Simeon the Stylite of 5th century, is the first church in our Archdiocese to be named after the saint.

Rev. Fr. Mathews Karuthalackal (Chicago) has been appointed as the first vicar of the parish. Karuthalackal Achan has been supporting the spiritual needs of our faithful in the Twin Cities since 1999. The inaugural Holy Qurbano will be held on Hoodhosh Eetho Sunday (Nov 8th, 2020) at St. George Coptic Orthodox Church, Plymouth, MN.

Based on the MN state COVID guidelines, worship attendance will be restricted through pre-registration.
