Ajish Mathew ordained to the rank of Qoruyo

Ajish Mathew of New Rochelle, New York a member of the St. Mary’s Syrian Orthodox Church of White Plains, New York was be ordained as Deacon(Quroyo) on Wednesday, July 4th 2012 at White Plains St.Mary's by His Eminence Mor Titus Yeldho, Archbishop & Patriarchal Vicar of the Malankara
Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church in North America. Many Priests, Deacons and faithful were in attendance.

Ajish, a born member of White Plains St.Mary's, is the only son of Kunjumon A. Mathew & Mary Mathew and grandson of Late Rev.Fr.Mathai Koshy (Ezhamkulam, Adoor,Kerala). He has two older sisters, Ancy and Ashley. Ajish grew with great sense of spirituality and attended Church services and Sunday school
classes regularly with keen interest since childhood. He was called to the Sanctuary as an Altar Assistant by His Eminence Mor Ivanios Mathews, Metropolitan of Kandanad Diocese in the presence of his grandfather Rev.Fr.Mathai Koshy back in 2005 and ever since he has been serving at the holy Altar of his home parish, the White Plains St.Mary's. Ajish is very much involved in the church activities as Sunday school teacher etc. He is also an active member and the Treasurer of the St.Mary's Church Youth League.

Ajish Mathew plans to join theological Seminary to continue his religious studies. He is also studying to become an Aeronautic Engineer.
