On December 22, 2020, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II attended a Christmas Recital by St. Ephrem Patriarchal Choir, at St. Georges Patriarchal Cathedral in Bab Touma – Damascus.
The Recital was entitled: “On the Road of the Stone”, and included Christmas chants from more than ten different languages and traditions. The Ladies Auxiliary presented a brief meditation on Christmas and the spirit of giving which brings us closer to each other and gives joy to all people in this blessed season.
In his speech, His Holiness congratulated the Choir for their great work, and talked about Christmas emphasizing the importance of feeling the presence of God among us for He is Emanuel which means “God is with us”. He also wished all a Merry Christmas full of joy and good health.
His Eminence Mor Anthimos Jack Yakoub, Patriarchal Vicar for Youth Affairs and Christian Education, Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director, Very Rev. Fr. Youhanna Saroukhan, Rev. Fr. Yousef Alberni, and Rev. Fr. Youhanon Yakoub, attended the recital.
